MotoSiberia Reactivated 2009

Within a couple of coming days a motorcyclist expedition from Poland to the far Siberia will begin. The first part of the expedition took place in 2007. It was a motorcycle trip though Caucasus, Middle Asia, Mongolia and Russia.

That time the team reached Magadan – a place, where the roads going north-east end. The expedition won within the category "Achievement” during the biggest travel event in Poland called Kolosy. The expedition was as well recorded on film during the 3 months long journey.  

This year the motor cyclists will continue their driving north-east. Their dream is to get to  Kamchatka and Chukotka. In the summertime these territories transform into impenetrable swamp areas crossed by enormous rivers. Those who know these areas well (geologists and hunters) do not give the motorcyclists any chances.

But the members of the expedition are stubborn and want to get firsthand experience. Their preparations took half a year. The team are riding the light KTM 400 motorcycles that are  most suitable for difficult ground. They designed special floating boards to cross the rivers and, if necessary, to sail down with their motorcycles. These regions are almost  uninhabited, so the lack of petrol and food will create an extra difficulty.

The motorcyclist team’s efforts can be followed on the expedition’s official website Motosyberia.com. Owing to the co-operation with the company Blue Media it is possible to see the status of the expedition on a map with the use of the portal Buddyway.com.
During the expedition information about the team's current location will be sent and available at Motosyberia’s special Website. The team’s subsequent positions will make a route showing their current location and how fast they have been moving. The route.
 
"MotoSiberia Reactivated”’s team consists of: Maciej Swinarski (head of the expedition and filmmaker), Mirosław Kolerski (“attacker”), Grzegorz Sadowski (photographer). The team’s 4th member (mechanic) resigned at the last moment.
